Can I use the Gmail website?
The Gmail app on a phone and the Gmail website on a computer are different. For a new business email account, start with our email sign-in page.

Choose a way to open your business email
Use email on the web
Choose Read email on the web below. You can read and send your business email there without installing anything.
Or use an email app
If you want your accounts together in an app, choose Outlook, Apple Mail or Thunderbird on your computer. The Gmail app is also an option on your phone.
Avoid older Gmail setup tutorials
Google is removing the features used to bring outside email accounts into Gmail on a computer. Old instructions that mention Check mail from other accounts may no longer work.
Already use Gmail this way?
Google says these third-party features will end in January 2027. Call us before changing your existing setup so we can help you choose a replacement.

Mobile Gmail remains an option
Google’s change notice distinguishes the Gmail website from its mobile IMAP support. Use the Android or iPhone guide for mobile setup.
Forwarding is not full mailbox sync
Forwarding alone does not give you synchronized Sent, Drafts and folders. It also does not establish a working outgoing business-email identity.
